My Palacios- those early summer mornings spent behind Dumas crab house fishing as a youngster. There were several regulars and every now and then a newbie would show up and you could see the excitement in their face as the first of many fish were caught for that day! The coolers were easily filled, one could limit out and be done in a couple of hours. I hardly remember a moment of silence or having to "be quiet" while fishing in that particular area. There was this one "big" monster that would get hooked by at least one angler on a regular basis. So huge was this fish it often broke steal leaders, straightened hooks and broke many a line. I was fortunate to tangle with the monster one morning. Of course everyone in the vicinity was an expert and knew exacty how to land this monster of a fish(while it was hooked on someone else's line of course)"go easy, keep the rod up, tighten the drag, loosen the drag etc". I never landed that monster and I'm kinda glad for it left me with a great respect of the one that got away!
