Good to hear from you. No, you never told me that I should take my idea anywhere else other than Palacios. As a matter of fact, you attempted to meet with me in Dallas once when you came there on a business trip but I was already tied up with something else and could not meet with you at that time.
You put me in contact with the School of Business at the University of Houston in an attempt to get them to take it on as a department project. I made several contacts with them and they looked at the business plan I had sent you.
I made a trip to Palacios and Charlotte Tucker showed me around at some potential locations and even made some inquiries with the Navigation District about some of the acreage they have for a possible long term lease...That is about the time my health took a turn down and we had to put everything on the back burner. I think I remember you telling me that you were experiencing back problems yourself about that time. When I got back on my feet I found out that you were no longer in Palacios and was told you had gone to the EDC in Bay City. I made an inquiry there and was told by a gentleman, that I cannot remember his name, that he thought I was making a mistake to consider Palacios due to the economy, population and median income.
Now, with the state of the economy, I am having to tread water on pursuing this project. I want to move ahead but cannot do it alone and my backers have pulled back on involvement until they see some improvement.
