I read in the Beacon Newspaper about the Flu Vaccine shortage in Palacios. I want to know what is your opinion as a concern citizen .
I believe the shortage should had go to the children rather that the older citizens, because even though the older do need the help. The children are the ones we should we take care about the most, because they interact more during school hours, so this make them more vulnerable. Memories of Ol' Friends

It seems every time I visit the Palacios Beacon website another ol' friend is in the Obituaries. Today I see that Bubba Smith has passed,. My sons, Mark & Mykel Dunn always called him "Uncle Bubba" although they knew he really was not their uncle he acted as if he was, it seems the name was catchy. Before we knew it everyone referred to him as that. He left us all with alot of very fond memories,along with Paul, Kieth & Dee-Dee Penland and many others unfortunatly.

I'd like the community to know about an example of what I call great people. Yesterday (Sunday May 24 ), I decided to take a little moped ride and I left Serendipity in Palacios and turned on FM 521. I went to the TinTop crossroads and went on a nice ride to collegeport. It was a nice ride to the bay and coming back I got within a mile of 521 and my rear tire went flat.
